Crittenton Parent & Family Resources
According to research of Ruby K. Payne, Ph.D., many poor people are focused on two things above all else – survival and relationships. To successfully escape poverty, they often need to leverage healthy relationships and learn new skills. A key component that helps push people out of poverty is a key relationship with someone who can tell them "this is how you do it.”

Parent & Family Resources shows them how.

Based on the tenet that children’s success stems directly from family and community success, the program helps parents have a more positive impact on their children's development. Parent education and community interaction create a critical mass of adults who understand what it takes to help children – and communities -- succeed.

Family Advocates contact every family that FCS serves, regardless of whether children are enrolled in Crittenton Childcare or parents are enrolled in Crittenton Jobs. Using surveys, Advocates gather vital information to ensure workshops and referrals are informed by legitimate, rather than presumed, needs.

To help parents cope with the emotional and psychological stresses of poverty, the Program also provides a safe and familiar place to come and learn a range of communication tools, whether through therapeutic treatment, educational classes, or by helping people determine the best short- and long-term strategies for family success.

Parent Advisory Group

This group gives parents a voice in creating programs, family activities, fundraisers, and more. The more parent participation, the better we can provide what you want for your family, to support your needs beyond child-care, and to discover what incentives you want to attend workshops. Get INVOLVED!

Community Resources

FCS provides child care services to families through our own sites and in collaboration with community providers. We also offer our workshops and resources to everyone in our network and community.

    Do you need assistance with:
