Job-training and job placement efforts are extremely effective ways to eradicate poverty, support healthy families, and create strong communities. Our Jobs Program provides skills-building workshops, coaching, resources, and referrals for individuals ages 18 to 50, most of whom are low-income, single parents, and/or high school graduates without steady work histories. Students practice interviewing, develop career plans and action steps, such as improving literacy skills or completing a GED, and have opportunities to meet prospective employers. The program also provides job search and placement services, continuing education assistance, and case management. In partnership with the City and County of San Francisco, FCS-WYCDC manages the Visitacion Valley One Stop Career Link Center at 73 Leland Avenue. The One Stop offers a variety of free services to job seekers, including job search, career development and employment resources. For more information , contact Director Susan Murphy at 415-239-8705.
