Our 5th Annual Fall Luncheon proved a great success! On October 17 at the Commandants Ballroom at the Marines’ Memorial Club, we honored radio personality Renel Brooks-Moon and former FCS board president Alison Engel for their on-going community work. Both are local treasures. Renel hosts the “Renel in the Morning Show” on 98.1 KISS FM and the voice of the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. She is Vice-Chair of The Friends of Faith, a non-profit organization dedicated to breast cancer awareness and prevention. She also serves on the board of the San Francisco Giants Community Fund. Alison served on the FCS board for seven years, including a two-year term as president. She was an early member of the Golden Gate Mothers’ Group, as well as a member of the Bay Area Discovery Council at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Much of her time is spent at her daughters’ school, the Katherine Delmar Burke School, where is chairs the Centennial Steering Committee. Meanwhile, we had an opportunity to break bread with old and new friends. In particular, we’d like to thank Luncheon Committee members Matt Dedrick, Dawn Dobras, Julie Flynn, Patricia Hickey and Ann Simon. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Sponsors Comcast Corp., Heffernan Insurance Brokers, Kearny Capital Partners, Flynn Properties, HRJ Capital, Visa International; Benefactors Dawn Dobras & Peter Swergold, Alison and Peter Engel, Julie Flynn, Beth Holland, Kurt Scheidt, Ann Simon, Ashley & Minott Wessinger; Supporters Sara Byrne, Betty & Jack Fontaine, Gary Grace, John Friedel & Patricia Hickey, Robin & Brian May, California Pacific Medical Center, and UCSF Community Partnerships Program.
